a customer's Personal Information
Disclosure Procedure Regarding the Personal Data Possessed
Automobile Inspection Registration Information Service
We, Mercedes-Benz Finance Co., Ltd. (the "Company"), herewith commit ourselves to compliance with the Personal Information Protection Act and related regulations, so as to protect our customers' and business partners' Personal Information, being used in the course of our business. Hence and hereby, we declare our Privacy Policy that we laid down and pledge to execute and to maintain.
                   
Acquisition of Personal Information
          
The Company will acquire Personal Information by means that are legal and fair.
          
Purpose of Use of Personal Information
          
The Company will use a customer's Personal Information within the scope of the purposes of use set out in (1) through (4) below only to the extent necessary to conduct its business.
(1) Notifications by telephone, email, and the sending of leaflets, etc. regarding loan, lease, rent-a-car, insurance and other Company products, services, various events and campaigns, etc.
(2) Questionnaire surveys for marketing activities such as planning/development of products/services, consumer trend surveys, and customer satisfaction surveys in the course of the Company’s business activities.
(3) The creation of internal company statistical materials (age make-up, gender make-up, etc.).
(4) Credit decisions and credit management.
Where, upon acquiring Personal Information, the Company clearly specifies a different purpose of use, in addition to the purposes of use set out above, the Company may use such Personal Information within the scope of said clearly specified purpose of use.
          
Provision of Personal Information to a Third Party
          
(1) Excluding the cases set out in (2) and (3) below, the Company will not provide Personal Information to third parties (excluding entrustees under Paragraph 4 of this Privacy Policy) without first obtaining the consent of the person concerned.
(2) In case of entrusting a customer’s Personal Information to another enterprise through subcontracting.
(3) The Company may provide Personal Information to a third party in accordance with law, such as where it is necessary in order to protect a person’s life, body, or property.
          
Provision of Personal Information to Entrustees
          
Within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use stated in Paragraph 2 of this Privacy Policy, the Company may entrust the handling of Personal Information in whole or in part (for example, the case where information is provided to a shipping/transport company for the entrustment of the delivery of requested catalogs, or the case where information is provided to a survey company for a consumer trend survey conducted by the Company).
                 
Security Management Measures
          
In order to maintain the accuracy of and securely manage Personal Information, the Company will carry out the following measures.
(1) Adopt appropriate information security measures in regard to unauthorized access and computer viruses, etc., in order to prevent the loss, destruction, alteration, and leakage, etc. of Personal Information.
(2) When transmitting Personal Information, the Company will endeavor to strengthen security to a reasonable extent by, among other methods, encoding the contents of the transmission using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer protocol), etc.
(3) Appoint a Chief Privacy Officer and implement appropriate management of Personal Information.
(4) Implement training of officers and employees regarding the protection of and appropriate management methods for Personal Information, and strictly pursue the appropriate handling of Personal Information in the course of everyday work.
(5) Where the handling of Personal Information is entrusted, in addition to performing a strict investigation of the entrustee, appropriate management/supervision will be carried out in order to cause the confidentiality of the Personal Information to be maintained.
             
Use of Cookies
          
The Company may use cookies on its websites for the purpose of simplifying procedures for the input of login IDs, etc. by customers. "Cookie" means information that is sent from the web server and is stored on the hard drive of the user's computer. While a customer can refuse to accept cookies using the settings of his/her computer, in such a case the service contents may be limited and may not be usable.
             
Use of IP addresses
          
In order to manage its websites, such as the identification of the cause of disorders that arise on its websites and the restoration of said websites as well as the prevention of unauthorized access, the Company may collect the IP addresses used by customers' computers. Excluding cases where it is necessary in order to protect a customer or the Company's websites, the Company will not use the collected IP addresses to identify specific individuals.
Drawing Up of a Compliance Program
          
The Company will draw up a compliance program for the protection of Personal Information which will include this Privacy Policy, Rules for the Protection of Personal Information and other regulations, and together with putting this compliance program into effect by making it thoroughly well-known to the Company's officers and employees, the Company will continuously improve it.
Disclosure, Correction, Cessation of Use, Etc.
          
Where there is a request from a customer himself/herself for the disclosure, correction, or cessation of use, etc. of Personal Information, the Company shall carry out disclosure, correction, or cessation of use, etc. in accordance with the provisions of law.

Revision of this Privacy Policy
          
The Company will revise the contents of this Privacy Policy in response to revisions of law and changes in the substance of the Company's business, etc. Where the Company revises the contents of this Privacy Policy, the Company will inform customers by publishing such revisions on its websites.
Note: The meanings of the terms stated in this Privacy Policy, such as "provision to a third party," "entrustment," "disclosure," "correction," and "cessation of use," conform to the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Law.
